I enclose copy of a report which was made in March last to the Indian Government in answer to enquiries on the subject of Indian emigration from Hong-kong. Subsequently for a time there was a diminution in the number of Indians arriving here en route for Canada. But between August the 16th and September the 10th, 623 Indians passed through Hongkong en route for Victoria, British Columbia. These men had all paid their passage money direct from Calcutta to Victoria, British Columbia, at Calcutta.
